Alexey Tsyplakov named CEO of Vostok1520
Alexey Tsyplakov was named CEO of Vostok1520 on 30 August 2019.
Before joining the company Tsyplakov held the positions of Deputy CEO, Chief Financial Officer at United Wagon Company and Director of Strategic Investments and Planning at Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant. He previously worked at McKinsey & Company, where he helped to implement projects in metallurgy, power engineering, oil and gas, and other sectors.
Alexey Tsyplakov holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in management from the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University, as well as an MBA from the INSEAD business school (all with distinction).
Roman Savushkin, who previously headed Vostok1520, will continue his work with the railway operator as chair of the board of directors, where he will pursue the company’s strategic development.

Railway operator Vostok1520 (part of First Heavy Haul Company) retained its leading positions for efficient fleet operation at the end of the first half of 2019. Car performance reached 14,400 tkm per car per day, which is more than twice as high as the average car on the Russian Railways network.
